Ram Gopal Varma Penmesta famously known as RGV was born in Hyderabad to Krishnam Raju Penmesta and Suryamma. He completed his civil Engineering degree from the V.R.Siddartha Engineering College in Vijayawada. Since his childhood he had passion towards movies. But he had to earn money, He started his professional Career as an engineer in Hyderabad. Then he started his film career in the Telugu Film Industry as assistant director for the films Raogaarillu and collectorgari Abbai. Then Varma managed to meet Nagarjuna on the sets of a film and narrated a scene to the actor Nagarjuna got so impressed with him so that he gave his directorial debut Shiva. Later he directed the movie Satya which turned out to be a masterpiece.

Satya was the landmark of the RGV’s career, But the film that really Varma in the eyes of the film industry was Rangeela. The acting trio of Aamir Khan, Jackie and Urmila Matondkar has done wonders in the film industry, and of course the songs composed by A.R.Rahman were wonderful.


Apart from that he has done many films like Kshana Kshanam, Govinda Govinda, and Prema Katha and others. He writes his own stories and very straightforward person. He has won 7 Nandi Awards for his work in Tollywood Movies.

He is known for his controversies, He is now divorced man with a daughter. The interesting facts about varma are. He released his autobiography to the world which is called Guns and Thighs. He is so passionate about the movies that he completed a telugu movie Dongala Muta in just 5 days. His favorite actresses are SriDevi, and Urmila Matondakar, His favorite actor is Amitabh Bachchan. RGV is an complete atheist and he doesn’t believe in God. He also wrote a book Naa Istam.

For his movie Siva, RGV has won many directorial debut awards. He was also given the National film award for scripting the Political dramatization motion picture school. His movie Satya is in the list of CNN-IBN 100 biggest Indian movies of all time.

In the pandemic, He became the most productive person and shot his movies without break. He started releasing movies on his app and the audience gave quite a response to his movies. He chooses the movies which are controversial and which would bring the audience to watch his movie. His latest movies are Climax, Murder, Thriller, Corona Virus, and one horror movie is also coming. We have to wait and see what RGV is gonna do in 2021.
